About J.L. McIntosh

J.L. McIntosh was begun in 1877 by John L. McIntosh. Through the early years, J.L. McIntosh was known for it’s quality hand finishing services. It remained in the McIntosh family up until the 1950’s when it was purchased by Mr. Carl Padnode.

Mr. Padnode sold the business, in 1968, to Mr Thomas Bohan. In 1994, Mr. John Kelley, the present owner, purchased the business from Mr. Bohan.

J.L. McIntosh is believed to be the oldest continually running finishing service for the Graphic Arts in the country. J.L. McIntosh has served Boston-area businesses for many years. J.L. McIntosh now serves the Greater Boston area, having relocated to Canton, Massachusetts in 1999. Our building is highlighted in the aerial photograph below, and Washington Street runs along the bottom edge of the photo.
